My apologies for flying off Monday – honestly I had 10 minutes notice to catch a plane. So off I went. I am bitter to have missed the GRAND league final and doubly buggered for having to postponed the AGM. I KNEW how excited everyone was for another meeting…
So I will still need to organize the AGM and will likely pick a time when I can bribe people with beverage incentives. It will be pushed into next month as I organize myself; so likely at the onset of fall league. I hope YUC can keep the momentum going and push into the fall.

We are having an on-field AGM on our last night of summer Ultimate League!
The schedule goes as follows:
5:30 pm Semi-finals

Come out to the AGM and stick around for the FINALS!
Why an AGM? Well because we’re trying to become legit, get recognized as an association to possibly access future funding, help teach Ultimate as a sport, get field times, get insurance, run tourneys, etc. etc. etc.
We have by-laws and a constitution already drafted up. There will be 3 positions on the board up for grabs; President, Vice President and Secretary/ Treasurer.

We’ve had a phenom summer this year with League going 6 teams strong, LOTS of new faces and one tourney along side the Greatest Canadian Ultimate Game. Hopefully everyone has enjoyed and are ready to take some learned skills to the indoor arena.

Hey folks – the end of outdoor disc season is near…
I’d like to propose Saturday Pickup at 4 pm. I’ll head down to the field and set up shop on what is supposed to be a nice day.
It’s also Hilary’s last day in town for the time being and I’m sure there are others of you moving on from the summer season as well. Come on out!
If there is interest I’m bring out some sticks and cups and we can set up a station for Cups – Don’t forget to bring a mug if you want to play.

Hi YUC members
We’ve had a couple of inquiries about the Ultimate tournament in Victoria, Pumpkin Pull. As of now Melanie and I have a full team rostered; it’s mostly made up of our Pumpkin Pull team from last year.
Actually we have 6 women and 10 men rostered so even if we have a couple of guys drop out we’re still at two full line-ups.
But, it’s nice to see interest perking! If anyone would like more info or if anyone would like to get a second team together I’d be glad to pass info along. The tourney is the weekend of Halloween.
